Who we are
Frø is a small independent audio plugin studio based in Bergen, Norway. References to "we", "us", "our team", or "Frø" mean the studio.

What we collect, and why
Newsletter / launch list signups
- What: your email address, the page you signed up from (e.g.
site/home), and the timestamp of your consent. - Why: to send you launch and specimen-share updates that you've explicitly opted in to.
- Legal basis: consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- Where it lives: Resend, our email service provider.
- Retention: until you unsubscribe (every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link). Once unsubscribed, your address is removed from the list.
Plugin purchases
When you buy a Frø plugin, the transaction is processed by Lemon Squeezy, who is the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy is the data controller for transaction data — see their privacy policy.
To deliver your license, Lemon Squeezy sends us:
- What: your name, email address, the products you purchased, and an order ID.
- Why: to generate and email your license file, and to handle support requests.
- Legal basis: contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) — necessary to deliver the product you bought.
- Where it lives: the license email is sent to you via Resend; we keep a record of issued licenses (license ID, email, products, issue date) so we can re-issue if you lose the file.
- Retention: kept indefinitely so we can re-issue. You can ask us to delete this record after refund or return; if you do, we won't be able to re-issue your license.
Site analytics
fro.audio runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare provides aggregated, anonymous edge analytics (page views, country, browser) which we use to understand traffic. We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other third-party tracking on the site, and we do not set advertising cookies.
The plugins themselves
The plugins run entirely on your machine. They do not phone home, send any audio, project data, or telemetry over the network, and they do not contact our servers. The license file is verified locally using cryptographic signatures.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold on you.
- Correct any inaccuracies.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to limited exceptions for tax records.
- Export your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
- Lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

Cookies
The site uses no first-party cookies. Cloudflare may set a small set of operational cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) for security and bot protection — these are essential and not used for tracking. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
International data transfers
Data may be processed in the EU and the US. Lemon Squeezy and Cloudflare have appropriate transfer mechanisms in place (EU Standard Contractual Clauses, plus adequacy decisions where applicable).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter to subscribers.
