One source. One organism. Every point between.
Field recordings
Shared anatomy
One performance gesture moves the whole organism from its near state toward its wild edge.
Every specimen is a different DSP engine—with its own color, behavior, and way of breaking.
Flip the face into a live circuit plate. See the actual organs, signal path, and feedback loops.
Place a small organism before or after the host. Mix and level-match the graft in its own rack.
Browse complete musical states safely. Preview, plant, star, save, and share them as small files.
Describe an intention. Preview the proposed changes, revert them, or apply and keep a full undo.
Practical notes
Your DAW compensates playback and renders. Live monitoring still feels the plugin's delay.
| Organism | Reported latency | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Aether | 0 samples | Comfortable while tracking |
| Ember | Small 2× oversampler delay | Generally comfortable while tracking |
| Pollen | 0 samples | Immediate dry monitor; grains answer later by design |
| Mirage | 2048 samples · about 43 ms at 48 kHz | After recording or on a send |
| Moss | 2048 samples + 24 ms · about 67 ms at 48 kHz | Playback, printing, and less latency-sensitive tracking |
| Spore | 10,240 samples + about 10 ms · about 223 ms at 48 kHz | Mixing, transitions, and printing |
Option-drag sets a control's Bloom range. Add Shift for a one-way path: upward makes Bloom increase it; downward makes Bloom decrease it. Mix stays fixed.
It was retired in favour of intentional, recallable Cultivars. Legacy session fields remain inert so older projects stay compatible.
Above 0.85
Combs self-oscillate. Tape sheds memory. Grains recurse. Every topology has a cultivated failure mode.
From the atelier
“I did not want five more tools that waited for instructions. I wanted instruments that made a strong suggestion—and still let me open the case to see why it worked.”
The first dispersal · In development · FRØ N° 00
Spore is becoming a complete bidirectional spectral-smear instrument: four specimens, Bloom, Freeze, motion, and grit. Follow the work and hear it before release.
